Q: What are the criteria to engage with the service?

A: You must be over the age of 18, have a link or connection with the Dublin North Inner City area (Dublin 1 & Dublin 7), and you must be experiencing or have experienced substance misuse, either directly or indirectly.

Q: Does Chrysalis work with family members?

A: Yes! We work with people that have experienced substance misuse directly or indirectly. Additionally, we offer Family Support Services, and can assist the family in learning about addiction to make more informed decisions and respond more effectively to addiction and early recovery. We will help the
family to identify the appropriate coping skills and develop a robust plan to support change.

Q: What approaches/methods does Chrysalis use?

A: Chrysalis offers different services to find the best way to recovery for the client, whether it be through individual work, like our Keyworking or Community Detox programs, or with groupwork, like with our Recovery or Crack Cocaine groups. 

Q: Does Chrysalis address any types of substance? And alcohol? 

A: Yes! We can help to address any types of substance misuse, whether that be crack cocaine, alcohol, or anything else.

Q: How much does it cost to use the service?

A: Chrysalis is funded through the NICDATF/HSE. As a result, the services are free from charge.

Q: What is the process to engage with the service?

A: To accommodate our expanding service we have developed a centralised referrals process to ensure potential service users are directed to the most appropriate team in Chrysalis. To make this process as easy as possible we kindly request that you provide us with as much information as possible at this stage. Q: What times do you offer services?

A: We provide counselling in the day and in the evening, the rest of the services are available from 9.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.

Q: What are the roles of the keyworker or case manager, and how do they assist?

A: The keyworker/case Manager assists the service users in identifying and prioritising their needs; they provide guidance and support, and assist the service users inaccessing the correct resources. They develop a care plan addressing areas such as addiction, physical and mental health, homelessness, domestic violence, employment etc.
